Albert Einstein Wonderful content typed letter signed with handwritten edition
A German-born theoretical physicist. He developed the general theory of relativity, one of the two pillars of modern physics. Best known for his mass-energy equivalence formula E = mc2 – the world’s most famous equation. Received the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics. Wonderful content typed letter signed A. 8.5 x 5.0 inch, 1951 March 17. Einstein sent this letter to Dr. Lionel Ettlinger, a man with whom he had been corresponding for almost 20 years. This fine letter shows Einstein as a caring friend, a side of the famous physicist that was rarely seen by the public. Written 3 days after his 72 birthday where the famous tongue-photo was taken. Ettlinger: I thank you for your friendly congratulations and for the wonderful books. You not the books! Are a real ballet dancer of thought: one may well gape but not imitate him. I feel so ashamed to be so spoiled, whereas nobody cares about those to whom the good things are denied. Friendly regards from your. Mailing folds, trimmed top and bottom, else fine condition. The language in his letter shows a unique side to the great mind. His rhetoric is colorful and shows a depth and warmth rarely seen in any of his writing. Are a real ballet dancer of thought: one may well gape but not imitate him. This may seem to be a quote from some other source but is not, it is unique, rare and referenced nowhere else. He primarily concentrated on these efforts from 1933 when he arrived in the United States until that nation entered World War II. His actions enabled many of his people to obtain visas and find work outside of NS territory. Ettlinger would spend approximately 80 percent of his personal wealth helping German Jews relocate to other countries. Known as Maja, she had suffered a stroke (1946) which left her bedridden and eventually unable to speak. She died on June 25, 1951, three month after her brother Albert sent this letter. COMES WITH A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY BY ANDREAS WIEMER HISTORICAL AUTOGRAPHS. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. Albert Einstein Letter Signed Predicting Nobel Prize

Albert Einstein Letter Signed Predicting Nobel Prize

Albert Einstein Letter Signed Predicting Nobel Prize
Fantastic autograph letter signed by Albert Einstein where Einstein predicts his “hypothetical Nobel Prize” in 1918, four years before he won it for his Special Theory of Relativity, published in 1915. In this lengthy letter spanning three pages, Einstein also critiques and compliments fellow physicist Hermann Weyl, and analyzes the divorce settlement with his first wife (including proceeds from the future Nobel). Undated, but sent in June 1918 according to the published letters of Michele Besso, to whom this letter is written; Besso was one of Einstein’s closest friend and the only person credited on the original paper for the Theory of Special Relativity. In German, letter reads in part, Dear Michele! / Seeing your handwriting always makes me happy in a very special way, for nobody is as dear to me as you are and knows me as well as you do and is as kindly disposed towards me. Don’t waste another thought on my adventure in correspondence with Anna [Besso’s wife], I don’t want to bear a grudge against her and want to be grateful to her for her effort. But I must say one thing. Nobody has ever been so outrageously rude to me, and I hope that in future nobody else will be! [Hermann] Weyl is an ingenious and fine chap, but his concept of electricity is no good; I wrote to [Walter] Dallenbach about this in more detail, nothing new, by the way. But I will not try to persuade either of you, rather leave that for time to accomplish. I would have loved to have heard Weyl’s lecture; all of his thinking is so inventive and beautifully shaped. And he certainly knows his math! Write a book on statistical mechanics? I would not have the patience. Gibbs’ book, by the way, is a masterpiece, though hard to read, and the most important thoughts are between the linesWell, you rascal – recommending to a friend that he should write books is easy, but where, then, is your book, about which you spoke to me quite seriously last year?’What a pair we are! Now about the contract. The addendum to 3 will not apply, because the interest on a hypothetical Nobel Prize will not exceed Fr. Finally, I cannot possibly ask my uncle to provide for my boys as well; in fact, I would not want this at all. Besides, who knows what part of his splendor our glorious time will still leave him. In addition to what we just reached an agreement on, Miza [Mileva] will receive Fr. 5,000 at the time of my death, and, furthermore, she still has savings of Fr. 10,000 (her dowry). If you add to this the fact that her parents are not exactly poor, it must be said that the children are provided for quite decently, though not magnificently – incomparably better, certainly, than I was provided for at the timeMy health is unquestionably better than last year. Elsa is untiring in cooking my chicken feed for me every three hours, and I do very little, I stay on my balcony most of the time. Everybody says that I never looked as well as I do now. Meanwhile, peace will have to come one of these days, so travel will be easier again. In spite of Miza’s laments in this regard, however, I think that it does not matter very much to them. Tete [Einstein’s youngest son, Eduard] wants a nice book from me as a present (a travelogue). With all the censorship, sending it from here would be very difficult. Today I received a letter from him for the first timeAffectionate greetings / from your / Albert. Letter is marked with paste by the censor, as World War I was ongoing. Runs three pages on card-style stationery measuring 5.25″ x 8.25″. Besso has added some writing to the letter, listing several books to fulfill Einstein’s request for a travelogue for his son, partly affecting the signature on the last page. Uniform toning and light chipping to edges, overall very good condition. Accompanied by a complete translation. This is a signed typed letter in German, signed A. Einstein, 8.5 x 11, blindstamped Princeton letterhead, dated June 26, 1946. The letter is to violinist Boris Schwarz, a professor of music at Queens College in New York. In full (translated): I know the writer of the enclosed lines, the musician Walter Kaufmann, personally and consider it possible and desirable that he should come and that suitable work be provided for him. I think there is enough interest in oriental music here. The man also has great experience in musical radio operation. What do you think about it and what do you advise me to do for him? In fine condition, with light perimeter toning, and a short tear to the bottom edge. Kaufmann, a noted composer, conductor, and musicologist, was especially well-known for his study of Asian music. He decided to leave Europe in the 1930s because of his Jewish ancestry, and traveled throughout India studying their music. He was unable to return to his native Prague after the war, as his family’s fortune had been confiscated. Instead, he emigrated to Canada; after living and teaching there for several years, he ultimately settled in the United States and became a naturalized citizen in 1964. Albert Einstein Autograph Letter Signed on God &Science

albert
Albert Einstein Autograph Letter Signed on God &Science

Albert Einstein Autograph Letter Signed on God &Science
Albert Einstein autograph letter signed in April 1950, shortly after his article “On the Generalized Theory of Gravitation” appeared in “Scientific American”. Einstein replies to a letter from his closest friend, Michele Besso, with wide-ranging content spanning the spiritual (even referencing God as “Him”) to his Unified Field Theory, with equations from the theory in his hand (“A certain mathematical question has occupied me lately”) that he believes neutralizes his critics. Einstein also takes aim at quantum physicists (“there is no such thing as a’particle’ in the strictest meaning of the word”) and even tackles the tricky issue of knowledge itself no guarantee that it will ever be possible to know whether the theory is’true. At the age of 71, Einstein is seeking to augment his Unified Field Theory, creating an umbrella theory for Special Relativity and Gravity, and seems frustrated that “contemporary physicists” appear content with theoretical abstractions without proving the equations underpinning them. In fact, he predicts that they will eventually see the need for evidence: they clearly have the right to condemn my method as unproductive. But it will not be like that in the long run. They will see, very slowly, that you cannot get closer in depth to things with the quasi-empirical method. Datelined from Princeton, 15 April 1950, this unique and very personal letter by Einstein melds the philosophical with the scientific and gives insight into the disciplined scientific mind of the great physicist. Translated from German, letter reads in full, Dear Michele! / The questions that you posed in your letter of 04/11 are completely natural but, for the time being, they cannot be answered. The reason for that is that no real definition of the field exists in a consistent theory of the field. It is true that, consequently, one ends up in a situation comparable to that of Don Quixote, since there is absolutely no guarantee that it will ever be possible to know whether the theory is’true. There exists no bridge a priori that could lead to empirical evidence. For instance, there is no such thing as a’particle’ in the strictest meaning of the word, because this does not fit in with the program of representing reality by functions that are everywhere continuous, even analytical. In theory, there exists, e. [see attached translation for equation]. There also exists a geodesic line for this. But in the first place, we have no reference point that might show that these lines possess any physical significance, not even approximately. It boils down to the fact that a comparison with the empirically known can only be expected from finding rigorous solutions to the system of equations, in which empirically’known’ constructs and their interactions are’reflected. Since this is tremendously difficult, it is easy to comprehend the contemporary physicists’ skeptical attitude. For the moment, they clearly have the right to condemn my method as unproductive. In order to really understand my conviction, you will have to turn over in your mind, again and again, my answer in the collective volume and the short article in Scientia. The question of’causality’ is not really the central one, but rather the question of real existence and the question of whether there exists any kind of strictly valid (not statistical) law for the theoretically represented reality. It is completely evident, that such laws do not exist for the observable facts. But the question is, is there a substitute for’reality’ as a theoretical program? Using your language, I would say: If the’cloud’ is not the expression of a singular fact, but only a’probability cloud,’ some thing with more characteristics must exist behind the cloud. Thinking that this is irrelevant for the theory seems to be fairly absurd. This is why people usually assert that the [see attached translation for symbol] function describes the individual case in its entirety and they only give up on this when one corners them on account of it. A certain mathematical question has occupied me lately. From an applicable variational principle there follows the compatibility of the system of equations. [see attached translation for equations]. On the other hand, formal reflections force us in the direction of the stronger system, in which the last two of the equations are replaced by. However, the compatibility of this stronger system is problematic; i. One does not know whether the multiplicity of one’s solutions is sufficiently large. After many errors and much effort, I succeeded in proving this compatibility. Of course, this does not prove anything as to the’truth’ of the theory; but the most important formal counterargument to it has disappeared. There is one thing that I have learned in the course of a long life: It is devilishly difficult to get closer to’Him’, if one does not want to remain on the surface. Two page letter on 8.5″ x 11″ sheet is near fine and accompanied by original envelope postmarked from Princeton on 16 April 1950. Also accompanied by a four page reply letter from Besso, with complete translation for both letters. Written in 1948 it cautions that any catastrophe befalling the fledgling nation of Israel will come from the actions of either its creators (Britain) or its citizens. Coincidentally the letter was written the morning after the Israelis carried out an unprovoked massacre of Palestinian civilians in the village of Deir Yassin. If the headlines from 1948 (the Deir Yassin massacre) to the present day (continued illegal settlements by Netanyahu encroaching on the lands of the Palestinians) are any measure of a man’s intellect… One must label Einstein a genius. Israel is indeed its own worst enemy, and here is the prescient pronouncement of it signed by a man of brilliance. Smudges on the Sotheby’s folder are blobs of original sealing wax from the initial sale. I WILL BE OUT OF TOWN AND INCOMMUNICADO 14APR19 TO 18APR19. I APOLOGIZE FOR THE INCONVENIENCE. Albert Einstein Autograph Letter Signed re Hitler
Albert Einstein autograph letter signed from 1934 during World War II to his first wife Mileva. In this personal letter, Einstein writes about Hitler-insanity that is ruining the lives of those around him, as well as care for his son Eduard “Teitel” Einstein who suffered from schizophrenia; in this letter, Einstein expresses hope that a “chemical intervention” might help Eduard. Datelined Princeton on 17 April 1934, German letter reads in full, Your letter, which raises such a lovely feeling of hope, made me immensely happy. I read the articles closely, and it does not seem completely impossible that a successful result might be obtained through a chemical intervention such as this. It would simply constitute a strong stimulus to the secretory system created by a deficiency of sugar within the blood. However, we should not rush into this thing, we must wait until more experience has been gained. I will also reimburse my sister for the expenses that accrue to her from Teitel’s and the caregiver’s visit. For now, I will not yet send periodical payments for the caregiver. All this is the result of the Hitler-insanity, which has completely ruined the lives of all those around me. / Best greetings to you. Single page measures 8.5″ x 9.5″. With docketing near top by Mileva. Folds, tape repair near bottom, and light uniform toning. Overall very good condition with extraordinary content both regarding Hitler and also Eduard’s illness shortly after his diagnosis.
