One of those vintage star wars items that you just don’t come across. Very Rare – sent directly from a major production crew member Ben Burtt who designed the sound of Star Wars at Lucasfilm in 1983. NOT A PHOTO BUT AN ACTUAL SIGNED LETTER on rare Original production stationary with original Return of the Jedi production mailing envelope. While not a official pix photo, this will fit perfectly in your star wars autograph collection. 8 1/2 x11 originally folded Letter signed by Star Wars Academy Award winning Sound Designer Ben Burtt from May 11, 1983 on ORIGINAL Return of the Jedi production stationary! Obtained directly from Ben Burtt after I wrote to him at Lucasfilm back in 1983 through the Star Wars Fan Club. Ben Burtt types May 11, 1983 Dear Jeff, Thank you for your kind letter. It’s always a pleasure to hear favorable comments about the soundtrack. Not being a movie star, I do not have a photograph to send you, I trust an autograph will do. Then he signs his name Ben Burtt and underneath types. Ben Burtt Sound Designer Lucasfilm Ltd. Rare that it is on Original Return of the Jedi stationary prior to release of the film later in May. Bottom left corner of the letter has printed Chapter III Company – A subsidiary of Lucasfilm followed by their PO box in San Rafael, their Telephone #, and the Telex #. Stationary page is in remarkable condition for it’s age (39 years) but does show some wear. Slight creasing on bottom left corner and on bottom right (Hard to see in photos). Would make an amazing display piece in any collection alongside Darth Vader or R2-D2 items or even next to your Master Replicas Lightsaber He designed the sound of Star Wars – Darth Vader’s Breathing, R2-D2s beeps, The sound of the Lightsaber, etc.. This listing is for a vintage 1940’s snapshot signed by the celebrity or celebrities indicated above. This item has been authenticated and slabbed by Beckett Authentication Service (BAS). Beckett puts each item into a protective sleeve before the item is slabbed and sometimes wrinkles in the sleeve are picked up in our scan / picture. The wrinkles / glares you see in the scan are very difficult to see in person. This autograph is part of a large collection that we obtained and all the autographs were signed in-person from 1939 to 1949 in the downtown Chicago area often at the train station. Please look at the photo we have provided closely, since the item was signed over 70 years ago some of the autographs might have slight stains and bends or even wrinkles. These photos all seem to have been signed in black ink and often the celebrity would sign in a dark area of the photo and our scanner has a hard picking up the autograph. In person the autograph(s) look much better. These autographs went untouched for over 70 years and we did our best to preserve their original condition. We have scanned in pictures of both the back and front of the photo. If the backside is black that means we added a piece of acid free black paper because the back of the photo was unpresentable. Some of the photos were glued into photo albums. You will also notice that most of the autographs have been dated. We are quite certain that is the date the autograph was signed and in some cases we think the celebrity added the date but most of the dates were probably added by the collector after obtaining the autograph.
