Fess Parker SIGNED Autograph 1955 DAVY CROCKETT Walt Disney Little Golden Book. Historic Walt Disney Memorabilia from Saturday’s Toys presents.. An original Little Golden Book issue of Walt Disney’s “Davy Crockett King of the Wild Frontier” (portrayed in the film by actor Fess Parker). SIGNED by Fess Parker on the title page. The in-person autograph / signature was obtained from Fess Parker at the Official Disneyana Convention (Disneyland Hotel; Marina Ballroom West) for the convention’s Antiques and Collectible Show on Sunday, February 19, 1995. The black felt pen (Sharpie) is shown to have partially bled thru to the back side of the title page. The bold signature still displays beautifully after decades in dark storage. Little Golden Book / Simon and Schuster New York; # D45. Illustrated by legendary artist and comic illustrator Mel Crawford (1925 – 2015). 2nd Printing; noted as “B” inside back cover / spine. Within months of the book’s original publication in 1955… The issue was already on the second printing… A blockbuster hit for the Walt Disney Studio. The spectacular success was so impressive that Fess Parker was able to negotiate a 10% share on all Davy Crockett merchandise; an unprecedented agreement for the studio. Well worn from normal use; in good condition; some wear noted to original foil spine. No name written on bookplate. Signed on the title page by Fess Parker, and dated as “95′”.
