Brandon Lee Kung Fu 1985 SIGNED agreement for Screen Test with movie/pilot option
Brandon Lee Kung Fu 1985 SIGNED agreement for Screen Test w/ movie/pilot option. Consisting of two 8-1/2″ x 14″ pages, it was signed on the second page and completed in Brandon’s handwriting. This Movie of the Week was an attempt to revive this popular show of the 1970s. Brandon played the role of David Carradine’s young son, Chung Wang. His father, Bruce, played a large part in the developing the original plot. The original Kung Fu series was a source of great aggravation for Bruce – he lost the lead role which he developed for himself to David Carradine in the end. The network executives thought no one would watch a Chinese man. This exceedingly rare document has tremendous provenance coupling him with the art that made his father’s career. Given the tragically short life of Brandon Lee, this contract represents one of a very few documents that was ever offered on the market from this rising star’s career. This is the earliest known TV or film document signed by Brandon Lee. NOTE: To protect the exclusivity of the document, the full-page scans are displayed in black and white. The blacked out areas are of Brandon’s Social Security number and home address. These areas of course are not blacked out on the original.
