Claude Monet Autograph Letter Signed with Compelling WWI Content. This scarce Claude Monet handwritten and signed letter is dated June 24, 1918. It was sent in reply to Julie Manet (daughter of painter Berthe Morisot and Edouard Manet’s brother Eugene). Julie had asked Claude Monet’s advice on safeguarding her personal art collection should Paris come under attack by the Germans. The letter was written shortly before the WWI battle of the Marne, in which the Germans advanced to within forty miles of Paris. Claude writes Yesterday I received a visit from an official, to whom I spoke of your wish, and your problem. He told me you had only to address yourself to Monsieur Beneditte, curator of the Luxembourg Museum, who is specifically charged with the transportation of private collections. You will therefore be able to see him, since you are in Paris. In any case, tell Monsieur Durand-Ruel [the art dealer] about him. Anyway, I thought I would let you have this snippet of information. I would like to hope that the worries and the health of your brother-in-law are less serious, and ask you to accept my very best wishes and my good friendship. The letter is in good condition, with a fold down the middle. The back of each sheet has a couple pieces of mounting tape at the top. These should be easily removed, though I have not attempted. An unsigned postcard with an image of Monet is also included. Includes full letter of authenticity from the Kenneth W. Rendell gallery on Madison Avenue in New York City. Wehrmacht DAK Personal Postcard, Signed by Field Marshall Erwin Rommel! This specific postcard was written to his wife “Lucie”, in 1936. Written to his wife Frau Lu (Lucie) Rommel in 1936 from Potsdam, this is an AMAZING example! Rommel penned the entire message in both the blank area of the postcard, as well as the front side. Part of the inscription reads. Many thanks for your dear letter. It is hard to understand how my first card could reach you so late. In the meantime, a further card and letter have been dispatched… Not sure what the rest indicates. It is signed both “Erwin”, and “Rommel” in two different areas of the card. Some marks and wear due to the age, but nothing that detracts. A SUPERB piece of history knowing that Rommel actually had this postcard IN HIS HANDS, it would make a PERFECT addition to any collection! TERMS OF SALE. Each grab is 10 randomly selected comics from this collection. THIS LISTING IS A BUNDLE PACKAGE OF 6 GRABS AT A DISCOUNTED PRICE. Golden Age (1938 1956). Silver Age (1956 1970). Bronze Age (1970 1985). Modern Age (1991 Present Day). This is the mother of all holy grails. Back story: enthusiastic collector of over 30 years. Collection consisted of Gold through modern age comics and full runs plus duplicates. Im offering a great opportunity to hit the jackpot with many different runs for insane prices. I need to downsize!!! Trying to move: would need a whole other moving van just for this. Wife wants me to get control lol. I believe this would make a lot of people very happy to possibly hit the same kind of luck I have. Photos consist of only a few of the gems and comics I have. Most of the books are from the Copper, Bronze and Modern ages as comics exploded during this time with new characters, new runs and new stories and origins retold. If you happen to get a high valued Gold, silver, bronze era, keys or a slab you will have serial numbers attached to a ticket in place of the comic. If acquired, there will be instructions and my contact. This ensures you get those gems safely! Didn’t get a gem in your grab? Fret not, your name plus number of sales is put into an end of the. No junk or duplicates. MOST autograph books have COA, that means some do not. Those that do not are included within the collection and don’t have tickets. I can’t authenticate the signature but if it looks like a real deal to me comparing many items on google SS comics and confirmation with comic friends then they went in. Not all signatures are on the cover, some are on the first page. This was very very common up through the late 90s as CGC did not exist at this time. Ended up returning it to me. Several are autographed – this doesn’t mean you’ll get one in your stack, they are all mixed in! All are bagged and boarded on acid free paper and plastic, top loaded or slabbed. This may be subject to change. Some sets may have more comics if some are in low grade quality (bonus books). In other words you’ll get 11 or 12 instead of 10 at no extra cost to you. All books have been securely stored in long boxes rotated every 10 books to prevent damage. All are stored in a cool, dark environmentally controlled room at ideal humidity in a smoke free environment. All high valued comics are stored in a fireproof protected vault and are insured. Each grab has been photographed and inventoried. I can’t assume the books you try to send back are the same ones given and I can’t risk not getting back my comics in a compromised condition or switched out with others.
