For sale here is. A very rare mini album of Tintin in the Land of the Soviets (Tintin Au Pays Des Soviets) produced to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the publication of the first Tintin story. There were only 1500 copies of this special mini album produced so this is one of the rarest of all the Tintin albums however this one is especially collectable as it’s signed by Herge himself. The inscription reads : “A Jean- Francois Meilleurs Voeux D’Oncle Herge” – “To John- Francis Very Best Wishes from Uncle Herge”. What is particularly interesting – possibly unique – is that it has been inscribed his nephew or perhaps if the same tradition exists in France of calling offspring of very close friends uncle, then the son of one of his closest friends. Perhaps with a little research, an answer could be ascertained. Whichever it turns out to be, a extremely collectable item.
